GPS Navigation System

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a global navigation satellite-based navigation system designed by the US department of defense and managed by the US Air Force 50th Space Wing. GPS was originally developed to be used for military purposes, however, in the 1980s, the US government made the use of the system to be free for everyone, anywhere for navigation purposes. Its official name is NAVSTAR GPS. It uses a constellation of between 24 and 32 medium Earth orbit satellite that transmits precise radio wave signals, which allow GPS receivers to determine their current location, time and their velocity in any kind of weather.

Satelite Navigation existed long ago than many people can realize today.The bases of NavSat were experimented long ago in 1967.However the NavStar GPS System could only be functional 30years after providing timing informations to the military during the 1990s then tranmitted to civlian users though the cost of usage of this application was very elevated, however subscriptions are required to be paid.Surveyors and Pilots first took advantage of the Navstar GPS given that they needed acurate signals, place, time to be figured out.During the early years, an average car owner was not able to afford a GPS auto navigation syetem easily.

Recently, the cost of setting up a GPS auto navigation system has fallen considerably. Due to this unprecedented result of low cost of installation, many people are taking advantage of it in order to make their journeys easy, keep track of where they are and where they are going.
